Bloodhound, as seen with Coronet in this piece embodies my desire to see two historic ships of the 1880’s restored or replicas sailing the seas of the world again.

Two great ships and the people who breathed new life into their shapes and rigs (Elizabeth Meyer and Bob Gilbert).

Bob Gilbert saw an 1880’s Beken of Cowers photograph of Bloodhound and knew that he wanted to pursue replicating her. He searched for her plans in Scotland where he found them in the archives of the Culzean Castle, where my Family Kennedy has punctuated history with some of the most famous yachts built.

Racing these yachts with the skill needed to change the face of yachting in the late 19th century, they were mostly Fife designs of Fairlie, Scotland.

Later, the Kennedys developed their own yacht yard and ways of designing them at the shore by the castle.

Bloodhound now exists and sails out of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico under the Mexican flag.

Coronet is the flagship of Elizabeth’s International Yacht Restoration School (IYRS) in Newport, Rhode Island. The J class yachts, Endeavor and Shamrock, were her former great works of reference as restoration took place. Now Coronet will have her new life with Elizabeth & Company.

Price is $160.00 for each 9 ½” x 20¼” Limited Edition print. This includes shipping, handling & insurance.
